I have to be honest, I have an obsession with cheese. But if you follow me on Instagram, you probably already know that ;) Cheese is just one of those foods that I won't ever get tired of eating. If I were stranded on a deserted island and could only take one food, it'd be cheese. My ultimate favorite appetizer when going out to eat was cheese sticks. I could eat the whole basket a a meal on my own. NOT healthy! So when I decided to make my own, I knew it had to still be cheesy and delicious, but healthy, too. This recipe passes both expectations and is very simple to make.
I highly recommend using this brand, because it holds the breaking well and holds up pretty good!
What you need:
2 String cheese
1/3 C Egg Beaters
1/4 C Parmesan cheese
Seasonings (Italian, garlic powder, etc)
Directions:
1. Cut your string cheese in half or as many pieces as you want, and place them to the side. Then In a bowl, mix your parmesan and seasonings- this will be the breading
2. Whisk your egg beaters in a separate bowl. Once completed, dip your cheese in the egg mixture and then roll it in the breading
3. Repeat step two if needed if you want them coated well
4. Place them on a lined baking sheet (parchment or wax paper is preferred)
5. Set them in the freezer for about 30-40 minutes (This is probably the hardest part..waiting)
6. Heat a pan with oil and wait until it is hot. If your oil isn't go enough, they'll stick and you'll have a mess
